Your adventure begins early in the morning, around 4:00 am, when our professional guide and private driver will pick you up directly from your hotel in Cusco. We recommend waiting inside your hotel lobby before departure.
Travel for approximately three hours through the spectacular Andean landscape, passing impressive snow-capped mountains such as Ausangate. Before starting the hike, enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast while surrounded by incredible mountain scenery.
After breakfast, begin an easy hike through one of Cusco’s most beautiful highland landscapes. Along the trail, admire glaciers, valleys, lakes, herds of llamas and alpacas, and local communities carrying out their daily activities. If you’re fortunate, you may also spot the majestic Andean Condor soaring above. The walk to the viewpoint takes approximately 45 minutes.
Upon reaching Palcoyo, admire the vibrant mineral-colored mountains that make this destination so unique. Your guide will explain the geological and cultural significance of the area while giving you enough time to explore, relax, and capture memorable photographs.
After enjoying the spectacular scenery, hike back to the trailhead, which takes around 45 minutes. We then travel by private vehicle for about one hour to enjoy a delicious lunch featuring traditional Peruvian cuisine in a beautiful Andean setting.
Following lunch, at approximately 1:30 pm, begin the return drive to Cusco, passing charming villages and breathtaking valleys along the way. Arrival at your hotel is expected at approximately 6:00 pm.

SECOND, we require a deposit of $53.00 USD per person. You can make you deposit by clicking on the VISA or PAYPAL symbols on the top of our home page, or you can click on the VISA or PAYPAL symbols on our booking page or click here on the payment of your choice, either VISA or PAYPAL.
WHAT ABOUT THE BALANCE
If you would like to avoid the high credit card fees in Peru, you may pay in cash at our office (US dollars or Peruvian soles) here in Cusco. There are many ATMS within the historical center to withdraw money. You can also pay by VISA or PAYPAL online but you will have to pay a 5.5% service fee, charged by VISA and PAYPAL. To pay your balance through PAYPAL, you need to log into your PAYPAL account and use our email address.
MAY I CHANGE THE DEPARTURE DATE AFTER THE TICKETS HAVE BEEN BOUGHT?
Yes, but with some restrictions. Please contact the office as soon as possible if you need to change your date.
If you cancel your Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain Tour, the deposit is not refundable at all!
WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?
The weather is very unpredictable and it’s difficult to foresee. BUT you will have many different seasons as you pass through the numerous microclimates and will depend on the location. We highly recommend you bring some warm clothes and good rain gear in your day backpack.
WHAT ABOUT ALTITUDE SICKNESS?
In general if you exercise regularly and spend 2 to 3 days in Cusco, or in the Sacred Valley for acclimatization to the altitude, you may be just fine.
The recommended medicine for altitude sickness is WATER, COCA TEA and OXYGEN IF NEEDED; our guides are trained to treat you for Altitude Sickness

If you’re happy with the services provided, a tip – though not compulsory – is appreciated.
