Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa
- 04:00 am: Hotel pickup in Cusco
- Transfer to Mollepata and breakfast on the way
- Continue to Soraypampa
- Lunch
- Acclimatization hike to Humantay Lake
- Return to camp
- Dinner and overnight stay
Day 2: Soraypampa - Salkantay Pass - Chaullay
- Early breakfast
- Hike to Salkantay Pass
- View of Salkantay snow-capped mountain
- Highest point of the route (approx. 4600 masl)
- Descent to Huayracmachay
- Lunch
- Continue to Chaullay (cloud forest area)
- Dinner and overnight stay
Day 3: Chaullay - La Playa - Santa Teresa
- Breakfast
- Hike through the cloud forest
- Pass through coffee, cacao, and fruit plantations
- Lunch in La Playa
- Transfer to Santa Teresa
- Optional: Cocalmayo hot springs
- Dinner and overnight stay
Day 4: Santa Teresa - Hydroelectric Station - Aguas Calientes
- Very early breakfast
- Transfer to the Hydroelectric Station
- Lunch
- Hike to Aguas Calientes (approx. 2h30)
- Arrival in Aguas Calientes
- Hotel check-in
- Dinner and rest
Day 5: Machu Picchu - Cusco
- Very early breakfast
- Walk or bus to Machu Picchu
- Entrance to Machu Picchu
