Itinerary
Your adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco.
Travel south through scenic Andean landscapes, passing traditional villages and agricultural valleys until reaching the town of Cusipata (or Sangarará, depending on the operator), where a traditional breakfast is served.
After breakfast, continue by vehicle to the trailhead where the hike to Waqrapukara begins.
The trek takes approximately two to three hours, following mountain trails that offer spectacular views of valleys, canyons and native Andean wildlife.
Upon reaching the archaeological complex, your guide will explain the history of Waqrapukara, its ceremonial importance, unique architecture and strategic location overlooking the Apurímac River canyon.
Enjoy free time to explore the terraces, plazas, ceremonial enclosures and the iconic horn-shaped rock formations while taking unforgettable photographs.
After the guided visit, begin the return hike to the transportation point.
A traditional local lunch will be served before returning to Cusco, arriving during the evening.
