Itinerary
Day 1: Rock Climbing Adventure in the Andes
Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley.
Travel by private transportation through the stunning Andean landscapes toward your selected climbing destination — either the legendary Pachar towers near Urubamba, the multi-sector walls of Lamay, or the vertical Via Ferrata ascent at Skylodge in the heart of the Sacred Valley.
Option A: Sport Climbing at Pachar (Classic Experience)
Upon arrival at the Pachar climbing area, receive a complete safety briefing and equipment fitting covering:
-
Harness, helmet, and rope safety.
-
Belay techniques and communication signals.
-
Route reading and climbing movement.
-
Safety protocols and emergency procedures.
After a warm-up on a beginner-friendly route, your professional climbing guide will lead you through progressively more challenging climbs based on your skill level.
Routes available include:
-
Beginner routes (5.8–5.9 / French 5–6a): Perfect for first-timers and those building confidence on the rock.
-
Intermediate routes (5.10a–5.11a / French 6a–6c): Technical face climbing and crack routes for experienced climbers.
-
Advanced routes (5.11b–5.12+ / French 7a–8a): Overhanging, bouldery routes with pockets and crimps for seasoned climbers.
-
Multi-pitch classics: Routes like Franco-alemán (47 meters, 6a) and La Peruana Suiza (7a) on the iconic tower spires, offering 2 to 4 pitches of spectacular exposure with panoramic views of the Sacred Valley.
Throughout the session, your guide provides personalized coaching, belay support, and photography assistance.
After completing your climbing session, enjoy a well-deserved rest and a locally-prepared lunch before returning to Cusco.
Option B: Via Ferrata at Skylodge (Premium Vertical Experience)
Arrive at the Skylodge base camp and receive your climbing equipment along with a comprehensive safety briefing on the Via Ferrata system.
Begin the ascent via the Via Ferrata — a 300 to 400-meter vertical climb using permanently installed steel cables, metal rungs, and ladders anchored directly into the rock face. The climber is permanently tied to the safety cable via a dual carabiner system throughout the entire route, making it accessible even for beginners while providing access to extreme vertical sections.
The ascent includes:
-
Initial vertical section: A 10–15 foot metal ladder straight up the rock wall, followed by steel rebar steps set into the cliff face.
-
Horizontal traverse: Moving sideways across the cliff on small rock ledges and steel steps, testing your focus and balance.
-
Rope bridge crossing: Two parallel cables strung across an airy gap between rock faces — walk the lower cable while balancing with your hands on the upper one.
-
Second ascent: Another vertical push even higher than the first, with the wind picking up as you gain altitude.
-
Summit rest: A well-deserved break at the Condor’s Nest viewpoint with unmatched panoramic views over the Sacred Valley and the ruins of Ollantaytambo in the distance.
After recharging, begin the descent via six ziplines ranging from 150 to 700 meters in length, with a total course of 2,400 meters, flying back down to the valley floor.
After the descent, enjoy a delicious gourmet 4-course lunch in the transparent SkyLodge dining capsule, suspended on the mountainside with 360-degree views.
Return to Cusco in the late afternoon.
Option C: Multi-Sector Climbing at Lamay (Advanced Experience)
Travel to the Lamay climbing area, approximately one hour from Cusco, which features multiple sectors with over 94 established routes:
-
El Canal: The most accessible sector, close to town, with entry-level grades (5+ to 6b). Perfect for beginners and warm-ups.
-
La Torre: Features the valley’s most beautiful route, La Peruana Suiza (7a), on a dramatic tower formation.
-
Huecitos: A newly bolted sector with short, bouldery routes full of pockets. Shade all year round.
-
La Puerta del Viento: Best climbed from October to March to avoid direct sun. Multiple unsent projects and a beautiful 7b+ route.
-
Pumahuanca: Located 10 minutes above Urubamba, mostly 7a and upwards. Super easy access and excellent morning conditions.
-
La Curva del Diablo: An amazing slab with entry-level climbing. Bring a 70m rope to climb all routes.
Your guide will select the best sectors based on your skill level, weather conditions, and climbing goals.
After a full day on the rock, return to Cusco in the evening.

Be honest about your climbing experience level when booking — routes are tailored to your ability.
-
Wear comfortable, flexible clothing suitable for physical activity and mountain weather.

Bring a light jacket or hoodie — it gets cooler and windier as you climb higher.

Stay well hydrated throughout the excursion.
-
Bring a GoPro or chest-mounted camera for hands-free shots.
-
Follow all safety instructions provided by your guide.
-
Avoid scheduling this tour immediately after long international flights — acclimatization is key.
