Itinerary
Your Premium Sacred Valley experience begins with hotel pickup at approximately 7:30 am. Leaving Cusco behind, we head toward the picturesque village of Chinchero, surrounded by breathtaking Andean landscapes.
Our first stop is the renowned Awana Chinchero Textile Center, where local master weavers introduce you to the fascinating world of traditional Andean textiles. Learn how alpaca and sheep wool are cleaned, spun, naturally dyed using native plants and minerals, and woven into intricate handmade textiles using techniques preserved since Inca times. This authentic cultural experience provides an excellent opportunity to interact with local artisans while supporting their communities.
Afterward, we continue to the impressive archaeological complex of Moray, famous for its enormous circular terraces. These unique agricultural terraces created different microclimates, allowing the Incas to experiment with crops from various ecological zones. Your guide will explain the remarkable engineering and scientific knowledge behind this extraordinary site.
Next, we visit the iconic Maras Salt Mines, where more than 3,000 individual salt ponds cascade down the mountainside. Fed by a naturally saline spring, these pools have been harvested continuously for centuries using traditional methods that remain unchanged today. Enjoy spectacular views while learning about the history and importance of this remarkable site.
Following our visit, we enjoy a delicious lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant, where you’ll savor authentic Peruvian flavors prepared with fresh regional ingredients.
In the afternoon, we travel to the magnificent Inca town of Ollantaytambo, one of the few places in Peru where the original Inca urban design remains intact. Explore its impressive terraces, ceremonial temples, water channels, and massive stone structures while learning about its strategic importance during the final resistance against the Spanish conquest.
After enjoying the archaeological site and the charming cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo, we begin our comfortable drive back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel in the early evening.
